Sara, you're 4 years old!

Wow!! Sara is four! Four seems like the baby is all gone... that makes me happy and sad all at the same time!

Sara, you are such a BIG girl these days. You are a great help with Paisley, and most of the time, you're good with Tucker too. You like to be a pest to him sometimes though ;-) You truly do love your brother and sister. I'm so glad you are the firstborn; you make a fantastic big sister! You are also a GREAT cleaner and helper around the house!

You are my sweet girl. You are still pretty shy with new people, but you are very affectionate with those you know well. You have become a great talker in the past year, something you were kind of slow to advance in. You talk all the time! You love to watch Caillou and Diego (Go, Diego, Go!) on the iPod or my computer. You are also a total prissy, girly girl. You love makeup, clothes (you change them several times daily), and babies. You LOVE to play-talk on the phone (usually to Elizabeth), and you think you're quite the adult. :-)

You can be quite sneaky too! We are frequently catching you doing something that you think you're hiding, and you're quite good at it. You are a great observer, and that has made you a good manipulator too, I'm afraid, ha! :-/

You are a good eater, thanks to your papa. Your favorite things are no shocker -- Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets, fries, ice cream, pizza, and juice -- but you will eat basically anything we give you. You love to go to Fun City and Boingo Bounce. I'm not really sure who your best friends are. Probably Tucker and the rest of your family, though you do talk about Riley and "Cata-cleena" (Catalina :-) You looove to do puzzles, and I am so surprised at how good you are at them! You also love to color and draw, and I'm always impressed with your creations.

You love to sing, and you can recognize all the letters of the alphabet by name (or at least by an associated word). You're learning their sounds, and I'm sure you're not too far off from putting them together into words!

Since Paisley was born, you moved into your "big girl" bed! This has been good and bad for me. You love it and sleep great at night, but you wake up about an hour earlier (8:15-8:30), and you almost never take a nap anymore. :-( I usually make you at least rest, looking at books or coloring in your room.

I can't wait for a chance to start going on girly dates with you! You LOVE getting your nails painted, and I think manicures and a movie would be a blast with you. Someday soon!

I love you SOOO much, Sara! You are still my baby, though you insist you are not, and I'm so glad I get to play with you every day. It makes me a little sad to look at pictures of your last birthday. I can't even believe how much you have changed in one year...

I wish I could make this chronological, but it is focused on her face, so it matches expressions instead. I love this glance through Sara's last year!

Just sent Sara to bed for the last time as a 3-year-old!

Family!

Birthday project

I have to brag on a project I just finished for Sara's birthday! This was originally 2 kitchen towels that I turned into an apron for her. She LOVES baking with me so she'll love this. It was an easy project and would have been super fast for an expert seamstress. (took me ~45 minutes) I know the pocket isn't perfect -- I eyeballed it. But I'm happy with it!!

MPM: Thanksgiving week!

mealplanmonday_v2.jpg

Check out the other menus here

Can you believe it's Thanksgiving??? WOW I can't. 2010 is almost over, y'all. (I definitely just typed "overy." Not sure what that is, but I laughed.)  I love Thanksgiving! It's a fantastic holiday in its own right, but my favorite part is that it's the kickoff to the Christmas season. :D "The most wonderful time of the year" for sure.

Ok. On to the eats.

Monday: Was gonna be something else, but my mother-in-law ended up taking us out. Not gonna complain about that!
Tuesday: Chicken Tortilla Soup (love love love -- crock pot recipe! I'm making enough to bring to a friend who is having a baby this week)
Wednesday: Rustic Italian Tortellini Soup (new recipe! i.e. Don't blame me if it's not good)
Thursday: Thanksgiving!! (We are going to my mother-in-law's. I'm only responsible for the 8 pounds of green bean casserole)
Friday: Chicken & Black Bean Enchiladas (No, we aren't having them again this week after having them last week... we never had them last week)
Saturday: Beans & Cornbread (it's Sara's birthday!! We'll be having this over at my mom's house)
Sunday: Leftovers, or eating at MIL's, or one of these meals if it doesn't get fixed (likely!)

It's going to be a FUN week! My MIL is taking me jeans shopping tomorrow -- early Christmas present. I gotta confess that I do noooottttt like shopping for clothes for myself (probably because they never look good :-\ ), but I really need a pair of jeans, and it's totally sweet of my MIL.

Baking cookies with Sara, listening to Christmas music.

70 degrees the week of Thanksgiving. What is this world coming to?

Food and more food!

Last night we went out to Napoli's in Rogers (I had a gift certificate). It was yum! (If a little stressful due to the fact that we had all three kids =| )

Then tonight Mom and I wanted to cook some yummy "noshes" for the football game. I wanted to attempt egg rolls so we went with an Asian theme. We also made Green Curry and lettuce wraps. Everything turned out great! I was so pleased!!

And the Hogs about gave us heart attacks. But at least we pulled it off! Go piggies :D Now just to beat LSU!

Watching our first Christmas movie!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Sheets and Sandwiches

We went on an outing with Nannie today. First to everyone's favorite deli, Jason's, and then to Target for some shopping.

I always get the California Club. How can you go wrong with turkey, cheese, bacon, guac, and sprouts in a buttery, flaky croissant?! Mmmmm... And did you know Jason's had chips and salsa?! I didn't! SO good.

Don't let the happy faces fool you. Tucker practically had to be force fed.

Nannie is getting Sara started early on her "comforts." :-) She got her an egg crate cushion for her bed and some fun new flannel sheets. Sara is quite pleased.

We also got a couple of new smoke detectors. =|

Totally fun afternoon! Now I'm ready for some rest. :p

Cleaning house with this cute thang for company :-)

Fun times!

Yesterday was a blast! We went with Annie, Betty, and Sophie to the new Boingo Bounce in Fayetteville. It was awesome! So clean, and the inflatables were great for the kids' ages.

After that, we went to Chick-fil-A. Always yummy!

I have such cute kids ;-)

Diva?

Sara has been standing here brushing her hair and "putting on makeup" for about 10 minutes. And she's not quite 4 yet! I dread 16.

Smoky night

When Zack got home from work yesterday, he thought the house smelled fine. We planned to spend the night, but realized by about 10 that it wasn't going to work. I was especially concerned for Paisley and her small airways. Smoking is the #1 cause of SIDS, and I just didn't want to risk it!

So we packed up and traipsed across town to my mom's house. She was great to have pallets and beds ready for all of us.

Actually sleeping was a little less great. It took me till almost 1:00am to get Paisley really to sleep, and the bathroom in mom's room was the only available one (Tucker was in the other), so anyone who had to go to the bathroom would also wake us up. :P And then Sara woke up at 5:00 and didn't fall back asleep till about 6:30. And woke again at 7:30. Ugh.

BUT our house didn't burn down, and we had warm, dry beds!

Here are the kids as we pulled up to mom's.

Hopefully we'll be able to get out of Mom's hair soon!
