I have been trying to teach the kids what “husband” and “wife” mean. Here’s a conversation we had on the way to church this morning.

Me: Hey guys, I have a question. Is Papa my daddy?
Kids: Yeah!!!!
Me: No, he’s my husband.
Kids: Ooooohhhhhh…..
Me: Am I Papa’s mommy?
Kids: Yeah!!!!
Me: No, I'm his wife.
[Pause]
Tucker: I have a wife!
Me: No, Tucker, you don’t have a wife yet.
[Longer pause]
Tucker: I have socks!

Yes, Tucker, you do.
