So, I got a gift card from Andy's for my birthday, and the kids and I decided (ahem, *I* decided) to use it today. Ooohh my. Meet the Cookie Casanova (sans cherries). It's every bit as good as it looks. Warm homemade chocolate chip cookies, roasted almonds, and caramel on a scoop of vanilla custard. **sigh** Happy birthday. To me.

Risk and Reward

I have a socialite (Sara) and a homebody (Tucker). I know it might surprise you that Sara is the social one, being as shy as she is, but it's true. She does not like to be home for very long. This winter weather is getting to her big time! However, she is not a risk-taker. Here's a conversation we had this morning:

Me	Hey guys, do y'all want to go to Nannie's house today?
Sara	Yeah!
Tucker	I don't wanna go!
Me	Sara, do you want to stay home or leave?
Sara	LEAVE!
Me	Tucker, do you want to stay home or leave?
Tucker	STAY HOME!!
Me	Sara, the roads still have ice on them. If we leave, our car might slip.
Sara	(looking very worried and shaking her head) Let's don't go to Nangy's. We maybe crash our car.
	[PAUSE ... thinking]
Sara	I think we will try it!
Me	You think we should try to drive? Even if it's slippery?
Sara	Yeah... But I don't want to go faster. Just go real slow!
Tucker	I WANNA STAY HOME!

More snow!

It's SOOOOOOOOOO cold! The wind chill is 3 degrees =\ so we are not
going to be in the snow for long. Somehow with all this blizzarding,
we still only have 2 inches in our back yard. Big fun though! I think
I'll go make something warm and yummy for the kids and hubby to come
in to...

Snow Day!

What a fun morning we've had so far! It's snowing like CRAZY outside, so Zack is home, and we are playing. So far, we have:

Made Lego towers...

Taken cover from the oncoming blizzard!

Examined the snow flakes -- they're more like snow clusters!! (that is one "flake" on my sleeve)

Played human basketball -- with a moving goal!

Colored...

And laughed!

I wonder how much snow we'll get?? As long as we keep power, we can get a foot for all I care! :-)
