We got so busy DOING during December, that I haven't had time to write it all down! I do have pictures of everything, though, so I'm going to let them speak for themselves. (what kind of convoluted English is that...?!)
We did soooooooo much fun stuff this December! Christmas definitely took all month. :-)
Tucker does this pretty much every time there is classical/violin music on (which is most of the time we're in the car). It's so sweet and funny that I couldn't not sneak a video.

Allow me to list the items in this outfit: • Razorback cheerleader outfit • Bright pink "belt" (ribbon from a gift bag) • Cardigan from Sunday dress • Upside-down butterfly wings • Rubber rain boots Do we need Stacey and Clinton yet??? :-)
Sara just came out in these clothes. Funny kid! And to top it off, she yelled at Tucker: "TUCKER! Do you love my shirt?!" Tucker is already well-trained and replied, "I LOVE it, Sara!" :-)
Every year we go over to my mom's house for Christmas movies! This year was no different. It was a pretty crazy busy day, and we didn't get the movies started until 7:30. So all we were able to watch was a short cartoon nativity story, and the beginning of Dennis the Menace's Christmas movie. It's always fun though! Tonight's fun activity is another birthday party for Sara! Jay and Betty weren't able to come to her party so they want to have us over for supper and cake. No complaining here! ;-) I'll leave you with this adorable picture from yesterday. Just makes me smile to see it!
My favorite Christmas cookie is the sand tart! (aka "worm" cookies in our house) Mom makes them every year, and it isn't Christmas until I've had one. This is what it looks like...
Sara said she wanted one. Then she decided she didn't like the "peanuts" (pecans). She said she DID like the "surgar," though. Evidently so. Here's her cookie as I later found it.
When is a trip to Fun City not just a trip to Fun City?? When it's December, of course! :-) That was our big event for Wednesday, but I think it still counts for sure! After all, that's a lot of Christmas music in the car. ;-)
Paisley, you are four months old! I can barely even believe it. (I know... I say that every month.)
Not a lot has changed this month, except that you are still growing! You're a little over 13 pounds now, still my petite little girl (though that's actually the 50th percentile for breastfed baby girls).
You are still a great sleeper. You sleep 12 hours at night (9:30p-9:30a), with one waking around 5:45-6am to eat, and you take a long nap each afternoon from 2:30~6:00p.
Oh my word, you are a happy baby! You smile on cue (the cue being smiling at you!), and you are giggling a lot these days. You LOVE peek-a-boo, and you also think it's hilarious when I blow a little puff in your face. You suck your breath in really big, and grin and giggle. You talk a LOT, and when you do, you make the funniest faces. You are such a social little girl. In fact, if you are crying (and it's not because you're hungry, wet, or tired), it's most likely because you are lonely! You don't like to be out of the loop. If we are driving in the dark, I have to turn the light on over your seat, or else you cry because you think you're by yourself.
We all just crazy love you! Tucker is quite protective of you. A funny story from this past month: Nannie was teasing Tucker, and said, "Hey Tucker, does Paisley need a spanking?" He immediately put his arm in front of you and hollered, "NO! You stop that, Nannie!" =o We all cracked up at that. Such a sweet (though sometimes overly aggressive!) brother.
Here are some pictures of you from today, talking to Mama
The last couple of days have been pretty low-key. We did get a little Christmas fun in though! Sunday night, Sara had a pretty good cough (still does), so we stayed home and watched the Grinch while folding laundry. :P Last night was my dad's birthday, so we went over there to celebrate. I got Disney's A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey to watch. We actually didn't like it very well... But it still counts! Today will be some more crafts. We're having so much fun dragging Christmas out like this!
Today was brought to you by the letter "T" and Mary Saldivar! :-) She called me yesterday and said she had two tickets to Arkansas & Missouri Railroad's Children's Christmas Train, but that she didn't need them, and would we like them? Definitely!!!
We had soooo much fun! The train ride was about 40 minutes, and included caroling elves and a visit from old Santy Britches. (aka Santa Claus :p ) There was also a lot of fun stuff to do before and after the train ride. I'll let the pictures and video do the rest of the talking...
Day 3 of our month-long Christmas brought a fun outing to the His Table Christmas Wonderland at First Assembly of God in Fayetteville. It was great fun!
Sara was pretty mesmerized by the whole thing.
Mom and Maggie came. Yay!!
Sweet Pay-so
Tucker was handsome, even if I couldn't get him to take a good picture :-)
When we got home, we watched Toy Story 3 (about 20 minutes -- it was late!!) and had popcorn.
We are loving all the Christmas fun. Tomorrow is a big day! You'll just have to wait and see... :-)
Yesterday, for our Month of Christmas celebration, Sara and I made these super cute paper ornaments! They were soooo easy that I told Zack he needs to do them with his Sunday school class. Sara is loving our craft time while Tucker is asleep. :-) Now we just need to figure out where to hang them...
We're doing Christmas all month long around here! Today Sara and I started off with something very traditional -- baking cookies! I'm going to do something with the kids each day until the 25th. It's gonna be a blast! :-)
Wow!! Sara is four! Four seems like the baby is all gone... that makes me happy and sad all at the same time!
Sara, you are such a BIG girl these days. You are a great help with Paisley, and most of the time, you're good with Tucker too. You like to be a pest to him sometimes though ;-) You truly do love your brother and sister. I'm so glad you are the firstborn; you make a fantastic big sister! You are also a GREAT cleaner and helper around the house!
You are my sweet girl. You are still pretty shy with new people, but you are very affectionate with those you know well. You have become a great talker in the past year, something you were kind of slow to advance in. You talk all the time! You love to watch Caillou and Diego (Go, Diego, Go!) on the iPod or my computer. You are also a total prissy, girly girl. You love makeup, clothes (you change them several times daily), and babies. You LOVE to play-talk on the phone (usually to Elizabeth), and you think you're quite the adult. :-)
You can be quite sneaky too! We are frequently catching you doing something that you think you're hiding, and you're quite good at it. You are a great observer, and that has made you a good manipulator too, I'm afraid, ha! :-/
You are a good eater, thanks to your papa. Your favorite things are no shocker -- Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets, fries, ice cream, pizza, and juice -- but you will eat basically anything we give you. You love to go to Fun City and Boingo Bounce. I'm not really sure who your best friends are. Probably Tucker and the rest of your family, though you do talk about Riley and "Cata-cleena" (Catalina :-) You looove to do puzzles, and I am so surprised at how good you are at them! You also love to color and draw, and I'm always impressed with your creations.
You love to sing, and you can recognize all the letters of the alphabet by name (or at least by an associated word). You're learning their sounds, and I'm sure you're not too far off from putting them together into words!
Since Paisley was born, you moved into your "big girl" bed! This has been good and bad for me. You love it and sleep great at night, but you wake up about an hour earlier (8:15-8:30), and you almost never take a nap anymore. :-( I usually make you at least rest, looking at books or coloring in your room.
I can't wait for a chance to start going on girly dates with you! You LOVE getting your nails painted, and I think manicures and a movie would be a blast with you. Someday soon!
I love you SOOO much, Sara! You are still my baby, though you insist you are not, and I'm so glad I get to play with you every day. It makes me a little sad to look at pictures of your last birthday. I can't even believe how much you have changed in one year...
I wish I could make this chronological, but it is focused on her face, so it matches expressions instead. I love this glance through Sara's last year!
I have to brag on a project I just finished for Sara's birthday! This was originally 2 kitchen towels that I turned into an apron for her. She LOVES baking with me so she'll love this. It was an easy project and would have been super fast for an expert seamstress. (took me ~45 minutes) I know the pocket isn't perfect -- I eyeballed it. But I'm happy with it!!
Can you believe it's Thanksgiving??? WOW I can't. 2010 is almost over, y'all. (I definitely just typed "overy." Not sure what that is, but I laughed.) I love Thanksgiving! It's a fantastic holiday in its own right, but my favorite part is that it's the kickoff to the Christmas season. :D "The most wonderful time of the year" for sure.
Ok. On to the eats.
Monday: Was gonna be something else, but my mother-in-law ended up taking us out. Not gonna complain about that!
Tuesday: Chicken Tortilla Soup (love love love -- crock pot recipe! I'm making enough to bring to a friend who is having a baby this week)
Thursday: Thanksgiving!! (We are going to my mother-in-law's. I'm only responsible for the 8 pounds of green bean casserole)
Friday: Chicken & Black Bean Enchiladas (No, we aren't having them again this week after having them last week... we never had them last week)
Saturday: Beans & Cornbread (it's Sara's birthday!! We'll be having this over at my mom's house)
Sunday: Leftovers, or eating at MIL's, or one of these meals if it doesn't get fixed (likely!)
It's going to be a FUN week! My MIL is taking me jeans shopping tomorrow -- early Christmas present. I gotta confess that I do noooottttt like shopping for clothes for myself (probably because they never look good :-\ ), but I really need a pair of jeans, and it's totally sweet of my MIL.
Last night we went out to Napoli's in Rogers (I had a gift certificate). It was yum! (If a little stressful due to the fact that we had all three kids =| )
Then tonight Mom and I wanted to cook some yummy "noshes" for the football game. I wanted to attempt egg rolls so we went with an Asian theme. We also made Green Curry and lettuce wraps. Everything turned out great! I was so pleased!!
